The Caytons have an incredible sense of style and vision in what they shoot. They are at the same time highly professional and competent, while making their clients feel totally at ease. Cathy shot our 2008 wedding at the Fine Arts Center and captured every moment, from the intimate to the celebratory. Any final product you choose will be heirloom quality. We could not be happier or more satisfied with the entire process -- from the initial meeting to the walk-through to the actual wedding day. We received the album and we LOVE it. I didn't realize how beautiful that day was until I looked back at the pictures you took. After a long search, we found our wedding venue through images that Cayton Photography posted on their blog, so it was an easy decision to hire them to take our wedding photos at the same place. Cathy & her team captured our engagement and wedding beautifully. We love the images and had a hard time choosing favorites. On the wedding day, Cathy handled our many relatives, changes in weather, and all the events with grace and a calm, unobtrusive presence that helped us stay calm and focused as well. Sean & Cathy Cayton have captured the most joyful moments of our lives with a perspective that portrays the emotion we feel and personalities we carry. They have done it in a way that leaves memories of only the experience and not the lens. Sean & Cathy's pictures of our wedding still make me smile. The way that they captured my husband & I, but even more so, for the way that they captured those that we love, still impresses us, particularly because, although they know us very well now, they didn't then. My favorite and most illustrative picture of my mother-in-law is one that Cathy captured at our wedding. She does not even remember the picture being taken; the Caytons integrate themselves into the background that well. My favorite memory from the wedding was with my husband (then, still fiance) before the ceremony as we sat side by side, giddy with love and excitement, having a private moment. Special as that moment was, Sean captured it without intruding upon it. Cathy helped me record the physical changes that attend the joys of pregnancy in a way that was comfortable and fun. Cathy had such creative ways to capture the beauty of a pregnant woman's body, but allowed natural placement rather than staging so I felt honored rather than on display. All this would be enough, except that Cathy has placed herself in my heart in the way she has captured my daughter in the last year. Through Cathy's pictures, we see all the personality and life in the daughter that we know by heart. To be able to hold these moments and be able to remember them with clarity as she grows is more precious than our memories that so often fail us. There's one picture for instance, that when I look at it (as I often do), I can still hear the laughter that accompanied it. I remember the breeze and I remember the feel of the smile on my face. The Caytons, through their brilliant camera eye and ability to fade to the background have dramatically captured our life over the last four years without ever leaving a footprint of their own. The gift of their photography is one we will always treasure, and will continue to honor in our lives.
Sean is truly an artist, finding beauty in small, fleeting moments and giving them to his clients to treasure forever. Having seen many of his albums, I am amazed at his flexibility, capturing so many different weddings in a way that is truthful to that individual wedding, bride, and family. He captured our wedding exactly as I wanted, and I continue to have friends and family say they are the best wedding photos they have ever seen. Many also commented on how discreet he was, in a time when the wedding photographer tends to take over the whole scene. But Sean worked quietly and cheerfully, catching people in very honest moments. He showed up early, full of energy, and was still buzzing when my groom and I left, nearly 12 hours later. Nearly 24 hours later, he had pictures on Facebook for guests to enjoy. I would give Sean my highest recommendation any day.
