Christmas cards and holiday cards are one of the best ways to use our photography. I really look forward
to "card season" when cards from our clients land in our mailbox. These are beautiful, imaginative creations using our pictures and all of them tell a story. A great card bookmarks those important moments. It is returned to and remembered often, whether in a scrap book, on the mantle or on the refrigerator. They are beautifully printed, usually on fine watercolor paper, and they feature great design and styling. Here are some of the best cards we received this year. At top, Jenny and James were married at the Garden of the Gods Club in June. Their card featured a wonderful sepia image of a touching portrait from their wedding. The card was printed by Tiny Prints, one of several popular online card companies that allow you to create a card using your own photographs. At left is a card from Maggie and Matt, married at the Pauline Chapel in November. It's both a Christmas card and a wedding announcement.
Above, a card from Brian and his family. I photographed Brian's Bar Mitzvah this year at the Broadmoor's Cheyenne Mountain Lodge. I love this relaxed and natural family portrait. Left, this is a two image card from Barrell's family. I photographed Barrell and Jacob's wedding at the Broadmoor in August. Barrell's brother was also married last summer in Georgia. Same family, two different brides and grooms, two different photographers and two photographs that play off each other. Thanks to everyone for all of your wonderful inspiration this card season! — Sean

Brian's Bar Mitzvah ceremony was held at the Broadmoor's Cheyenne Lodge on Saturday, September 17, 2011. Brian's family decided to do all of their family photographs at their home before the ceremony. It was nice for me since then I could photograph without worrying about those pictures after the ceremony and I know Brian's family appreciated it because that allowed them to really concentrate on the Bar Mitzvah and enjoy their guests. A Bar Mitzvah can be a very moving ceremony. Love this picture, above, of Rabbi Jaimi Korngold, a.k.a. The Adventure Rabbi, placing her hands on Brian. All About Home Design provided the decor a delightful and creative combination of hockey, Brian's passion, and the fall season. ShowTek Events provided the entertainment and Booth 66 was there with a fun photo booth for the kids. Thank you Brian for inviting me to photograph your Bar Mitzvah! — Sean

Brian's Bar Mitzvah ceremony was held at the Cheyenne Lodge above the Broadmoor Saturday, September 17, 2011. The ceremony took place out on the veranda in the late afternoon. A cocktail hour and dinner reception in the lodge followed the ceremony. The lodge inside was decorated with beautiful centerpieces featuring a hockey theme (Brian's first love is hockey) courtesy of All About Home Design. Rabbi Jaimi Korngold, a.k.a the Adventure Rabbi, performed the ceremony. I met Brian's family at their home before the ceremony to do formal family photographs and that freed up time for everyone to enjoy the guests after the ceremony. Entertainment for Brian and his friends included a magician, dancing with music by ShowTeck Events , slushies and a cool photo booth by Booth 66.
