Broadmoor Engagement : Nicole & Jake

I photographed Nicole and Jake's engagement at the Broadmoor last week. Nicole and Jake are planning a wedding at St. Paul Catholic Church with a reception at the Garden of the Gods Club for Labor Day weekend 2013. We photographed their engagement at the Broadmoor because that's where Jake proposed to Nicole. Springtime at the Broadmoor is quite beautiful and we took
advantage of the flowering crab apple trees on the West Lawn. Nicole grew up just down the street from the Broadmoor and went to Cheyenne Mountain High School. But this is still a destination wedding of sorts. Nicole and Jake make their home in Virginia, just outside of Washington, DC. Gretchen and Chris are planning a destination wedding at St. Paul Catholic Church with a reception at the 
their home in New York City. They traveled to Colorado Springs in March and spent a long weekend at the Broadmoor firming up plans for their wedding day. 
photographs and celebrating her birthday were the only two items on the agenda:) After the shoot Gretchen and Chris invited me to help celebrate her birthday at the Golden Bee, a wonderful bar at the Broadmoor that features a piano man, song books and yards of beer. Because we weren't in a rush our shoot was relaxed and fun. Early spring is a great time to be at the Broadmoor. It's less
crowded, the weather can be wonderful and the winter light, which I am fond of, is still around. We started at the Hotel Bar and then roamed the grounds. I really love the shots of the two of them in front of the resort. Thank you both for a wonderful day. I'm so looking forward to your wedding day! — Sean
I photographed Barrell and Jacob's engagement sitting on Sunday. Barrell and Jacob are originally from Texas, but call Chicago home. They came out for the weekend to finalize their destination wedding plans with help from Maggie of
